In Another Life

Never had she thought of it like that until Adam told her. How dense could she possibly be? She simply could not believe what she was hearing, too. To make matters worse, he was the one telling her. Samus' cheeks instantly flushed a light shade of pink much to her chagrin.

She could hear Adam lightly laughing behind her as well as the Baby chirping happily along side both of them.

Despite being so close to Adam, it was still so embarrassing!

Samus gently tugged the cap over the Metroid, wearing what Adam called her 'Mona Lisa' smile as the baby swirled around her head in fluid spirals the moment its surrogate mother released it. Samus tilted her head up to capture the sun's gentle rays, oblivious to the amused look that was creeping across Adam's face behind her.

"This is nice," she commented, leaning back against Adam's shoulder as she gazed up into the clear azure skies. "I'd forgotten what it was like to relax on a day like this- how beautiful the weather could be on Earth... I've been away too long."

"You know you're radiant when you smile like that, don't you?"

The bounty hunter tensed in shock. Where the hell had that come from?! "I- uh- w-what?!" She spluttered out, flustered beyond what was reasonably dignified.

"Whenever you're truly happy you lose that... edge to your voice, your actions," he continued as if she hadn't even spoken. "It's lovely. Especially when you're around this little sucker," he added, prodding the infant Metroid in an affectionate way that made the creature chirp in delight. "I always knew you'd be an amazing mother. Not to mention a beautiful one."

Involuntarily, Samus' found her cheeks flooding with heat as she heard the laugh in Adam's voice, and the way the baby chirruped as it orbited them as though heartily agreeing with his every word.

"I... er... um...!! A-Adam, you shouldn't-! I mean, uh... um..."

"Just one question though," he pressed some of his weight against her back, "Who's the father?"

"Adam!" she turned slightly and pelted his arm with playful smacks.

I wonder what Adam and Samus are talking about. [You tell me what you think they're saying! I'm curio~]

She looks flustered foh sho. heehee. Probably Adam's fault for saying something sweet.

Background/Additional Info:
What I kind of pictured when drawing all three of them was kind of family and love/fluff. For me, Adam mentioned something along the lines of there being "rumors" about them that made Samus all embarrassed. This shows that she's a bit more oblivious to what people are talking about her and her best friend. Then, Adam probably tags-on a double-entendre confession that goes over her head, OR he simply just pokes more fun of her [OR both at the same time.]

My Samus on her downtime is silly. Adam and his blondes XD ()

My opinions:

When I was sketching this - I focused on poses after realizing how cute Samus' head turned out. I was on my bed with a mirror parallel to it, so I posed for a second or two one night and just memorized the positions. Later throughout a few days, I finished her up. She looked lonely so I added Adam. And once again for the umpteenth time, Adam is being a total pain in the neck to draw. I spent forever trying to match the style of his eyes to Sammy's since I drew them days apart. He wasn't wearing his cap so I needed a reason as to why it wasn't there with him. So viola~ The Baby comes to the rescue.

First off, I'm slightly mad I drew this on my history homework right where one of the punched holes were...

Secondly, I have plans to one day color this digitally [by that, I mean like a year from now because I'm pretty lazy]. >_> I need to order myself a new nib sometime for mah Waycom tablet -- eventually. I've said that like 2 years ago? So whenever I get around to actually coloring this picture, I'm going to get rid of that stupid hole. Rawr.

Anyways, I kinda imagine it colored in a soft shades. Kinda bright but light colors I suppose.
